United Nations Office at Nairobi

The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) is one of the four major UN office sites where several different UN agencies have a joint presence. The office complex is located in Nairobi, Kenya. It serves as the headquarters of the United Nations Environment Programme, andUN-HABITAT.

The complex of buildings is located next to the Karura Forest and across the street (United Nations Avenue) from the US Embassay in Nairobi.

In November 2004, the United Nations Security Council held a rare session at Nairobi to discuss the situations in southern and western Sudan.[1] The meeting was convened at the urging of then-Ambassador John Danforth of the United States.[2]
