Biography

Zac is the middle child of five siblings (Nate, Joshua, himself, Jonathan, and Isabelle). He is an Italian American. He was the drummer in the band Paramore until it was announced on December 18th 2010 that he, along with his older brother Josh Farro, would be leaving the band. Zac began playing drums at around the age of nine, and he was eleven years old when he played his first drum kit.

Influences

Some of his favorite bands include: Jimmy Eat World, Radiohead, Death Cab for Cutie, Mew, Paper Route, Sigur Ros, Thrice, Sunny Day Real Estate and Mum.[1] Farro has been influenced by Dave Grohl (former drummer of Nirvana and current singer/songwriter of Foo Fighters and drummer for Them Crooked Vultures), William Goldsmith (former drummer of Sunny Day Real Estate and Foo Fighters, replaced by Taylor Hawkins) and Riley Breckenridge (drummer for the band, Thrice). His favorite songs to perform live are "Misery Business", "My Heart" and "For a Pessimist, I'm Pretty Optimistic". In a video for Gretsch Drums Zac Farro stated that he likes to play "Decode" and "Let The Flames Begin".

Paramore

Paramore was created in Franklin, Tennessee in 2004, with Hayley Williams (lead vocals/keyboards) alongside Josh Farro (lead guitar/backing vocals), Jeremy Davis (bass guitar) and Zac Farro (drums). Prior to forming Paramore,[2] the other members of what was soon to be Paramore had been "edgy about the whole female thing" of having Williams as singer, but as they were good friends she began writing with them and eventually became a member. Jeremy Davis was also unsure if the band could be taken seriously because of Zac's young age, he changed his mind after their first practice session when he watched Zac play and realized he had talent.[3] The band has released three studio albums, All We Know Is Falling, Riot! and "Brand New Eyes", as well as two live albums and one EP. "Brand New Eyes", their third album, was released on September 29, 2009. In June 2009, the band welcomed Taylor York (rhythm guitar). They knew Taylor York for many years and he played with them for several shows but was never an actual member. It was announced on December 18, 2010 that Josh and Zac Farro would leave the band to pursue their career elsewhere.[4] On December 21, 2010 a statement was released by the Farro brothers stating their reasons why they left Paramore.[5]

Tunnel

Two days after his departure from Paramore, Zac took part in a new project band called "Tunnel", releasing a new song called "Hide Your Eyes". The band features Farro (drums, vocals) and Jason Clarke (guitar, vocals). [6][7][8]

Farro and Clarke had earlier been together in a band with Taylor York and Josh Farro.

Despite rumors, Farro's brother Josh wrote in his blog that Zac was not officially in a new band and that Tunnel was simply a side project. [9]

Gear

Zac is currently endorsing Gretsch Drums, Pro-Mark sticks, Zildjian cymbals and Remo drum heads. He was previously sponsored by Truth Custom Drums and Meinl Percussion. He has two drum kits,(one is in Europe and one is in America) both are Gretsch. One is a black marine nitron wrap (American). The other is a Champagne sparkle wrap (European).

Side Project

Zac has recorded tracks outside of Paramore by himself and with Josh Farro. These songs were never released. Tracks include:
